Within a short drive, are all those other pretty villages with such evocative names: Lourmarin (One of the most beautiful villages in France, with its many Restaurants & cafes), Cucuron, Ansouis, Menerbes, Bonnieux, Fontaine du Vaucluses (one of the most powerful natural springs in the World), Isles-sur-La Sorgues (world famous for its Antiques market) to name but a few.

Rousillon, famous for its Ochre’s quarries. Gordes Its impressive position is its main attraction, the Village des Bories, stone huts which are now a museum of rural life, 3km from there Abbaye de Senanque, is surrounded by a tranquil sea of lavender.

Driving west you can visit St-Remy-de-Provence, famous for its many Museums, Le Centre d’art Van Gogh & Clinique St-Paul where he stayed after he mutilated his ear. Les Beaux-de-Provence has the most dramatic fortress in Provence. Aigues-Mortes, Arles & the Alpilles

Travelling inland you can visit Apt and its Saturday market. Sault famous for its lavender fields & beautiful sceneries. Mont Ventoux is The Giant of Provence a limestone massif west of the Alps, reaches 1909m it is easy to reach the car park at the top. Vaison-la-Romaine. The larger cities of Aix-on-Provence (30mns) an international student town, with one of the region’s most cosmopolitan streets, restaurants, bars, shopping & museums. Avignon is the medieval culturally chief city of Vaucluse and the busy port of Marseille, France Premier port & oldest major city, centred on the Vieux port & the fishing boats, the other coastal areas such as Cassis, the Calangues & the Camargue, are within an hour driving distance.

The cosmopolitan Cote D’Azur areas (2-3 hours) of Cannes, St Tropez, Nice and Monte Carlo, can be enjoyed as day trips.

The Luberon is simply full of activities & sights that are a must to experience. It´s simply impossible not to find an attraction or an event that won´t tease your curiosity, from exploring the many markets (there is a market every day in one of the villages) Wine tasting, painting, museums and festivals, to the more physical pursuits such as rock climbing, canoeing, fishing, tennis, horse-riding not to mention the abundance of walking and cycling routes of varying degrees of difficulty. The excursions are well mapped, marked and allow all levels and ages to discover the countryside, the richness of the nature and fauna of the Luberon.
There are many golf courses in the surrounding; a beautiful one designed/developed by Ballesteros is 15 minutes drive in Pont Royal.
